PANEL FEATURES:


LINE ON/OFF

When this button is pressed the 4284A starts.

DISPLAY

Displays all measurement setups, measurement results, special user functions, operator and error messages

SOFTKEYS

These five keys are used for measurement setup, parameter selection and function selection. A description for each softkey function is provided in the description of the page on which it appears.

PAGE CONTROL Keys

These three keys control paging on the display. These are the specifications of each key:

DISPLAY FORMAT: When pressed, returns the display to the measurement display page. Subsections in the measurement display area can be accessed pressing the adecuate softkey.

MEAS SETUP: Moves the display to the measurement setup page. Subsections in measurement setup area can be accessed pressing the adecuate softkey.

CATALOG/SYSTEM: Not used.

Trigger Key:

This key starts the measurement. If INT mode is set in Meas Display Page it will keep measuring until a key or button is pressed. If MAN mode is set, then it will measure only one time. Measurement is a sequential operation consisting of voltage or current sweep, measurement and storage of measurement result.

Stop Key:

This key stops the measurement.

ENTER Key

This key is used to enter parameter values, alphanumeric characters in active field of the display. When this key is pressed, the cursor moves to the next field.

CURSOR Control Keys

These keys select the active field.

Field Pointer Control: pressing Ü , Ý, Þ or ß key selects the next field in the indicated direction.

DATA ENTRY Keys

These keys are used to enter alphanumeric values in display fields.

Backspace key

Causes the character at the position of the cursor to be deleted.
